Preston & NASSCO & ISES - A Busy Day at Bob Hoffman

Tonight BHVP will be covering events in three separate locations! All hands are on deck for a very busy evening.

Alex and Tom, heading to two separate shoots, divy up gear.

Preston Estate Planning is getting down to business with its quarterly workshop. NASSCO is treating conference attendees with an evening event full of fun and frivolity complete with live performance. ISES San Diego (International Special Events Society) is having us photograph one of their many monthly meetings.

BHVP is keeping busy! That's the way we like it :)

Congratulations Leann Pugh!

For the past 10 years BHVP has had a working relationship with Leann Thompson. Leann recently reached out to friends and loved ones for support as she was gearing up to run in her very first half marathon alongside her mother Ruth at Disneyland. She succeeded in raising $1500 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Leann runs for this cause in memory of her brother Dallas.

Well done!

The Dallas Pugh Foundation was founded on the principle that when life gets tough, suicide is not the answer. There are numerous organizations and outreach programs that operate under the same principles as the DPF due to rising teen suicide rates in America.

On November 3rd DPF will be holding a Sock Hop fundraiser for the foundation in the newly constructed Dallas Pugh Gymnasium at t he McGrath Family YMCA in Rancho San Diego.

Thermo Fisher Product Shoot

The other day we had the pleasure of doing a product shoot for Thermo Fisher Scientific. TFS creates lab equipment, software, consumables and instruments for a bevy of customers in a variety of fields. Their website mentions seeking ways to improve one's workflow, a word very near and dear to the hearts of every videographer/photographer. Workflow efficiency can make or break a business. We're happy to create media for a company that not only understands this principal but champions it as well. A lot of time and preparation goes into every shoot that we do. It's important that the finished product can be viewed, edited and cut together in a manner more intensive creatively than it is in time.

With that, we're also looking forward to getting a lot of mileage out of this new studio setup. Having a space where we can careful control light makes a world of difference in creating any video or still image.

Brady Bunch Actor, Christopher Knight honored by Carlsbad City Council

Bob Hoffman Video & Photography has been broadcasting the Carlsbad City Council Meetings for the past 3 years. Recently, Christopher Knight, whom we all know as Peter Brady from "The Brady Bunch", was honored by the Carlsbad City Council, for his charity work with Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation.

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation is a non-profit corporation that serves as an advocate for the Lagoon and strives to preserve its natural healthy ecosystem and habitat including wildlife and marine life, while at the same time balancing the need for public access, trails and recreational opportunities.

Christopher Knight has been involved with the foundation since 2008, but has always had close ties with San Diego County. "I've passed through or by these lagoons since I was a little kid, and I'm happy to be a person to help bring recognition to it," Christopher proclaimed. Knight plans to be at Lagoon Day 2012 on July 22 held at the lagoon which is at 1580 Cannon Road. We had a great time working at the Carlsbad City Council Meeting, and to check out more info on the foundation, click here

San Diego Business Journal - 100 Fastest Growing Private Companoes

Each year, the San Diego Business Journal researches and publishes the list of the 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in San Diego County. This research uncovers the region’s top emerging growth companies. The San Diego Business Journal honors these companies by publishing the list and hosting an exclusive invitation-only reception and awards program to honor the winners and guests.

We were able to attend the 8th Annual 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies event at Paradise Point and also had the pleasure of doing both the principal photography and videography of the Top 10 Businesses in collaboration with the San Diego Business Journal.

We had a great time at the event and working with everyone at the San Diego Business Journal. Check out the photos and video of the top ten here:
