USS Coronado Homecoming

This past week we were invited to photograph the homecoming ceremony of the USS Coronado.

This is a newly created ship that is being added to the fleet in Coronado Island.  The ship had been away with it's crew for over 11 months, so as the tug boats toted the ship into the port you could see the excitement and joy of the families start to bubble up.

As the navy men and women finally walked down the gang plank their families and friends who were waiting held up "Welcome Home" signs and ran in for giant hugs.  It's hard to not get choked up when awesome moments like this happen.

Thanks to Lincoln Military Housing for organizing such a great event.  They do such an amazing job fostering healthy community for soldiers and their families!
